THE RAZZIES
Yes, it is that time of year again. The time where egos get inflated, Critics get their moment to shine, and celebrity’s wardrobe gets to be the star: (you guessed it) ACADAMY AWARD TIME. But before I like to focus on the excellent films of the year I like to focus first on another kind of award invented in 1981 by John Wilson, THE RAZZIES. The Razzie is the “anti-Oscar” where it celebrates the worse films of the year. The categories include Worst film; actor, screenplay and most recently worst remake and sequel. Some of the worse films this year include: SPEED RACER, DISASTER MOVIE, MEET THE SPARTANS, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, THE HAPPENING, THE HOTTIE AND THE NOTTIE, POSTAL, HIGH SCHOOL MUSCIAL 3 AND THE LOVE GURU.Another award may be given out to all time bad careers to Uwe Boll (HOUSE OF THE DEAD, POSTAL) for all time worse and terrible movies. I will cover Mr. Boll in another post, but he makes Ed Wood Jr. look like Frank Capra.
