I love Clint Eastwood, I think he’s a great director and one of the best action stars ever around. This includes all the westerns he did and all the Dirty Harry films, now he stars in a film called GRAN TORINO. According to the trailer, Eastwood is a retired Korean War vet who is involved in a turf war with an Asian gang. What’s interesting is the people that he used to fight moves next door to him and he protects the poor people from vicious gangs of Asian thugs. Now, I’m not prejudice against senior citizens but my whole gripe is; I can’t see Clint Eastwood beating up twenty-year-old thugs with guns and knives (according to the trailer). This seems like an interesting film just for that reason alone. Well Eastwood directed the film so I’m sure it’s poignant and well thought out. It is upsetting to see Eastwood being so old himself and hearing him speak in a hoarse graveling voice. In other news supposedly he has no interest in another DIRTY HARRY, but he is still making action films so I guess anything is possible.
GRAN TORINO comes out January 9th.
