BRICK
BRICK
A very unusual film, yet extremely entertaining for all types of filmgoers is 2005’s BRICK. Starring Joseph Gordon Levitt and Richard Roundtree The concept of the film is the most original I have seen in years. It takes place in normal town America, in a high school, but it’s a murder mystery. Levitt’s character’s ex-girlfriend is mysteriously murdered. Here is the clever part; the film’s dialogue is of the pulp fiction vernacular. Take an old detective film from the forties and insert into modern day teens. Think of a Humphrey Bogart thriller meeting AMERICAN PIE (Just not as funny). You have one of the most original films that I can think of in years. I admit I had to put the captions on to decipher what was being said, but this film was a solid, top-notch thriller, with a killer ending. Not to be missed, seriously this film needs to be watched.
