November blog and whats to come.

Published by carl8447 at 10:32 am under Uncategorized Edit This

November’s blog is going to be packed with exciting stuff. I have a web cam and I’m not sure how to use it yet, but I might incoropate it into the blog every month. I’m not going to repeat myself in each blog but I’m personally very excited about the WATCHMEN film. There is a new trailer out check out the homepage of the film www.watchmen.com. This month I’m going to list my favorite Superhero movies and important cinematic films.

These lists are going to be films that are important to ME, I’m not going to make outrageous claims that these are the only films that are good and if you don’t agree I cast thee to hell. Anybody who claims that is a pompous ass. These films are important to me and I feel important to cinema as a whole, here is a list of five (because if I go more than that I could be here forever):

5. TAXI DRIVER, Martin Scorcese’s masterpiece of insanity. This film has everything the perfect acting, the perfect score by Bernard Herman and a magical world of depravity that you easily get sucked into.

4. PSYCHO, Alfred Hitchcock’s perfect thriller with dozens of plot twists, Bernard Herman’s pulsating soundtrack and incredible acting. Yes, the infamous “shower scene” is included in the film. The most unusual and yet clever thing about this film is the fact that biggest stars is killed early on in the film (minor spoilers).

3. LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, David Lean’s epic adventure of a diplomat that tries to unit the Middle East. David Lean’s sweeping landscapes and wide cinemascope shots is a virtual scrapbook of great film shots.

2. CITIZEN KANE, this is arguably the best film of all time and I feel it is. This is a textbook of how to make interesting cinema. A non-linear story, experimental camera shots, memorable close ups, memorable shadows on some of the actors faces. If you hate this film, give it an honest try. Please view movies even though they are in black and white, you’re losing out if you don’t. Orson Welle’s is an incredible genius.

1. GODFATHER, the epic family drama that is just as good as advertised. Every scene is a famous one, every line is a famous line, every note of the score has been duplicated, the acting impeccable. This is film that if it’s on your local cable channel you have to stop and watch it every time.
