VING RHAMES AND THE LATE GREAT JACK LEMMON

Published by carl8447 under Uncategorized Edit This

Ving Rhames one of my favorite actors came on to Hollywood being typecast as heavies and criminals, from Wes Craven’s PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS, to his break out role in PULP FICTION.

In 1998, the actor Rhames won a Golden globe for his portrayal of Don King, in MADE IN AMERICA: DON KING STORY. The man was so emotional at his speech that he actually offered his award to fellow nominee and an admirer of Rhames, Mr. Jack Lemmon. His whole motive for Jack Lemmon to come up was to give his award to this living legend on screen; to this day Jack Lemmon has never been so flattered. So it goes to show that no matter what you’ve been type cast as, a good actor is a solid actor. Mr. Tough guy is a very sensitive person and that shows true character.

Watch the video, this is a Charlie Rose interview with the late Jack Lemmon and the first five minutes talks about Ving, the rest of the fifty five minute video is a great insight into Mr. Lemmon. But again the first five minutes are relevent to this post.  The video is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ps–orsZxzI
